You can navigate Hollywood, and to show you how, we’re hosting one of our most popular workshops!
Hollywood Connect regularly invites experienced industry professionals to lead its popular Navigation Sessions, by providing you with all the ideas, insights, and suggestions you need for a comprehensive pursuit of your entertainment career! Each session covers a wide variety of helpful topics and gives you the rare opportunity to ask plenty of questions, not to mention connecting with other people in the industry.
The Navigation Sessions are hosted by actor, writer, and producer Shun Lee and director and producer John McMillan, along with a great panel of industry professionals. These sessions are a great way to get your questions answered and to get to know other people in the entertainment industry, so you don’t want to miss it!
• Transitioning to and getting started in Hollywood
• Networking and building industry relationships effectively
• Finding jobs in the entertainment industry
• Getting an agent of a manager
• Pitching and selling your screenplay
• How to get the artistic training you need
• How to actively move your artistic career forward
• Getting plugged in with entertainment organizations, creative groups, and even churches and ministries
• And much, much more!
This workshop is held on the CBS Studio lot and space is limited, so be sure to sign up right away! (Each person should sign up separately and under his or her own full name so we can give the names to the CBS Security Gate – we want you to be able to get on the lot!)
Who should attend: Actors, writers, producers, directors, and all other creative professionals who are in the two years of their careers in the entertainment industry.
What to bring: Paper & pencil or something to take notes with; business cards (if you have them)
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Anyone is welcome, but you will need a government issued photo ID to enter the Studio lot. A driver license or passport will do fine!
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The great folks at CBS have kindly allowed us to use this space so please park considerately and legally! You may park in any parking spot that does not have a orange cone in front or a 24-Hour sign. Just make sure you park in a legitimate parking spot! And we recommend arriving just a bit early in case you have to walk to the building.
What should I bring to the event?
Bring something to write on and something to write with. At every one of these workshops we hear something invaluably useful, so you’ll want to make sure you write it down! It doesn’t hurt to bring a few business cards and headshots (if you’re an actor) because you never know, the person sitting next to you may be your next employer!
