Get set to find your funny as nationally televised & Billboard-charting stand-up comedian Josh Harris breaks down the basics of stand-up comedy, showing you the secrets to writing awesome jokes, developing great stage presence, and finding your own comedic voice! You’ll learn how the skills of stand-up can help you become a funnier, more dynamic actor, writer, director, public speaker, and creative professional. You’ll be shown how to translate your comedic genius to film, sketches, scripts, stand-up, monologues, and auditions. You’ll also learn how to develop a dynamic marketable brand, an online fan base, and attract the industry to you! This seminar also covers simple but powerful formulas behind joke-writing that can help you craft funnier monologues, scripts, films, and stand-up routines. This workshop is for anyone looking to become funnier and use the art of comedy to improve their craft.
Who should attend: Writers, actors, directors, aspiring comedians, creative professionals, and even individuals with no entertainment experience whatsoever.
Requirements: Pen and paper, or notetaking tools.

Instructor: Atlanta comedian Josh Harris has experienced an impressive rise over the last few years. Hailed by CreativeLoafing Magazine for “combining frat boy silliness with a trap star mentality,” his high-energy performances and one-of-a-kind material made him a semi-finalist on Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes. In 2009, NBC flew him to LA to compete in the finals of the nationwide talent search Stand Up for Diversity,which showcased the country’s ten freshest comedians at The Comedy Store. In 2012, he performed a nationally televised comedy set for Bounce TV’s OffThe Chain, hosted by Rodney Perry from The Monique Show. He’s written for Cartoon Network Online, starred in a television pilot for The History Channel, and in 2013, produced a series of spoof White House Press Conferences for COX Media’s extremely popular political website Rare Media. In 2015, Josh released his debut musical comedy album I’m Here You’re Welcome. The album debuted at #3 on the iTunes comedy charts, and#13 on the Billboard Comedy Charts. In 2016, Josh shot his first comedy special at the historic Earl Strand Theater, and later that year his comedy music video Whipped Guys garnered 10,000 views in less than 12 hours. Are there ID requirements to enter the event?
The good folks at the CBS Security Gate will need to see a government-issued photo ID to match with your name on the list we give them, so make sure you register here and bring your driver’s license or passport with you.
What are my parking options getting to the event?
The security personnel will instruct you on where to park when you arrive. This will be based on what other things are happening on the lot that day, so make sure you arrive early enough to walk from where they have you park to MPR-6, the room we will be in that morning. You can ask the security personnel for a map of the lot when you arrive so you can find the building easily.
