Auditioning has changed. To get the part, you have to change with it.
In this workshop you will learn the new standard for auditioning for film, television, and commercials: How to record professional quality auditions and deliver them directly to agents and casting directors.
Our instructor, Tim Powell, will share his valuable insight on how to produce clean, excellent quality, video-audition uploads on a restricted budget. You’ll learn how to make composition choices that will cause you to stand out and grab casting directors’ attention. You’ll also learn to light your auditions so that you look great on camera, what equipment you will need to get the best results, common self-taping mistakes to avoid, professional audio tips and tricks, and how to deliver your taped auditions efficiently and with the best file sizes. You will also get links to online tutorials, recommended products, and self taping resources, as well as recommendations for recording and delivery apps.
Any and all working actors need to have this information, whether they are taping their own auditions or if someone else does it for them!
Who should attend: Actors and anyone interested in the auditioning process.
Notice: This workshop will be videotaped. All attendees will be asked to sign a release form.
Requirements: Bring pen & paper, or other tools for taking notes.
By the end of this class, you’ll know how to:
- Achieve outstanding self-taping results on any budget;
- Avoid common self-taping mistakes that will sabotage your audition recording;
- Understand and implement 3-point lighting; and
- Make composition choices that grab and hold casting directors’ attention.
