The Filmmakers Lab

Welcome to The Filmmakers Lab, a unique workshop experience that brings committed filmmakers together to conceive and create short films, all while being coached and mentored by industry professionals!
The Greenhouse has teamed up with Canon to create an exclusive two-month workshop geared to equip, instruct, and mentor filmmakers in film production. Only twelve applicants will be selected to participate in the workshop, and receive the opportunity to produce an entire short film by the end of the eight-week course.
For the first four weeks, the participants will attend a series of cross-disciplinary workshops in which industry instructors will take them deep into the key fundamentals, standards, and practices of filmmaking. Each week of the workshop will cover a different topic of the film industry ranging from the four disciplines of directing, cinematography, editing and producing.
In following weeks, each participant will work with a collaborative team to create and edit a short film using high-end Canon cameras and equipment. After a big-screen viewing of the films, each participant will leave with a hard copy of his/her film for a demo reel – and a new IMDb credit!
